Series II: Accession 2016-0093, (2007-2016)

Scope and Contents

This contents of this series are focused primarily on the lawsuit Krayeske v. City of Hartford et al. The majority of the materials contained within this series are the materials rendered in the lawsuit itself, therefore researchers should be prepared to encounter a signficant amount of legal prodecure and terminology (including Latin).

Processing Information:

Extensive deaccessioning has taken place within this series. Over half of the materials processed were redundancies. Additionally, as there was no discernible intellectual organization of the materials, and given the specialized nature of the materials, efforts have been made to arrange this series so that researchers may access them with an understanding of their context within the lawsuit Krayeske v. City of Hartford et al.

There are ten total boxes of materials that have been seperated. All deaccessioned materials have been separated and await review by Krayeske. Until such time as permission is recieved the materials have been labelled and shelved at: 3.48. F-K

Conditions Governing Use:

Some of the documents in the series contain sensitive infomration gathered in the investigation into Karyeske prior his 2007 arrest which incited the lawsuit Karyeske v. City of Hartford et al. These materials, primarily the documents labelled "Law Enforcement Report" contain the social security number, addresses, phone numbers, and other information on Krayeske, his relations and others deemed as potential connections to Krayeske himself. Some of these reports have been censored, primarily in the bound depositions, however the efforts for censoring this sensitive material is not always sucessful. Additionally, the designations of sensitive information are for legal standards related to the lawsuit -not standards maintained by the archives. Additional review of these materials is needed in order to determine whether they should be restricted. redacted, or removed.

Separated Materials:

The accession contains a large quantity of digital-born material, primarily 3 1/4 Floppy Disk Drives, and CD-ROMs. Some of the digital-born materials are labelled as digital surrogates for printed materials within the collection while others are recordings of media coverage related to Krayeske's arrest and subsequent lawsuit. At the moment there is no active processing plan for the digital-born materials. They have been collected and separated from the accession proper.
