Fair Haven railroad station

Photograph of the Fair Haven railroad station in the town of New Haven, Connecticut, taken by Lewis Herbert Benton (note that Benton incorrectly noted the town as Fairhaven). [This description contributed by Robert Joseph Belletzkie: In several instances Benton came across stations that were no longer in service. This one is said to have burned in 1919 not long after this shot. In comparing this photograph with others taken by Benton it seems that he was on an extended journey in August 1917 to record these images. Fair Haven, Connecticut, is about four miles east of New Haven, Connecticut, on the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad's New London, or Shore Line, Division.]
