Show moreSite H: Surveyed 29 June 2012 by Capers and Cogbill. The site is on the summit cone at: 44°15’56.2" N, 71°18'00.1" W. Elevation: 5481 feet. It has one transect, with 10 quadrats. This is part of the data set that provides quantitative data on the abundance and frequency of vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens which are lacking for snowbed and rill communities above treeline in northeastern North America. Such data are needed to establish whether the communities are changing in response to climate warming, nitrogen deposition, or shifts in the timing of precipitation and snowmelt. Show less
