Scope and Content Note
The Jumbo the Elephant collection represents a number of materials related to Jumbo the museum has received and collected over the years. While promotional material and clippings compromise some of the collection, the primary focus is on photographs. These photographs primarily relate to Jumbo’s death and to the fate of his remains - primarily his taxidermied body which was on display at Tufts University.
Arrangement Note
The collection’s arrangement was dictated by the contents. Because it is small, there was no need to assign the photographs to a subseries.
