Description
Young girls, most of them ex-carpet children, attend a special RugMark School north of Lahore, Pakistan. For many, this is first school they have ever attended. RugMark provides the uniforms and books that they would normally not be able to afford. In the rug-making capitals of South Asia, the deterrent effect of RugMark inspections, coupled with increased educational opportunities, have led to a dramatic reduction in the use of child labor in the carpet industry.
