Description
The Easton, Massachusetts railroad station was a stop on the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad when this shot was taken. The previous operator was the Old Colony Railroad which was leased by the New Haven in 1893. Photograph taken by Lewis Herbert Benton. The bicycle behind the children likely is Benton's, which he apparently took on the train to visit intermediate stations. A bicycle appears in many of his early shots. The date below is based on a nearby photograph which is assumed to have been taken on the same day. Description provided by Robert Joseph Belletzkie.
