Description
Men and women in a variety of small pleasure boats on the Connecticut River near Dutch Point. Boats include rowboats, launches and sailboats. One boat has a small tent on it. Some boats fly American flags or are dressed with signal flags. Two boats are named "Tone" and "Viola." Buildings on the shore in the background with a tall smokestack include the Dutch Point power plant of the Hartford Electric Light Company. Inscribed on back: "Boats preparing for / river parade, Oct. 08."
