Description
This artifact is a large, narrow, stemmed lanceolate biface with convex blade edges, squared shoulders, and a pointed stem that exhibits projections on each side. The cross section is bi-convex and flaking is by pressure. It is 12 inches long and 1 11.16 inches wide. It has been broken and restored just below the mid-section. There is a small modern hole drilled through the stem, probably for mounting. Such artifacts typically date to the Pre-Columbian Pre-Classic to Classic Period, between ca. 100 and 300 CE. Found near Tepic in the State of Nayarit, Mexico. Ex Keith Glasscock Collection.
